Applications must contribute towards one of the priorities for the ward:
A. Projects which foster
positive relationships between young people and adults and which
encourage young people to make a positive contribution to the local
community.
We would like to see projects which
increase contact between younger people and adults so there are
opportunities to talk, share skills, build trust and respect, solve
community problems together and get to know and understand one another
better.
B. Projects which improve the local
environment, in particular which improve access to the natural
environment within residential areas.
There are a number of
good parks not far away but there is very little green space in most of
our residential streets. We would like to see projects which bring
nature into our residential areas, making the built environment less
harsh.
C. Projects which help to encourage a more healthy lifestyle.
Our
neighbourhood has the worst health record in Liverpool and one of the
worst in the country. Life expectancy is a full 6 years less than the
national average and mortality rates (which measure early death) are the highest in the city. We would like to see realistic projects which take
practical steps to encourage a more healthy lifestyle.
